Review - Marabou Pistachio
Life is full of surprises, so is Marabou. Marabou to me is no more than chocolate for the commoners, shelves flooded with the strangest of varieties that begs the question of what kind of bored and creative mind spends its precious time combining them all.
But today, it surprised. An unbeknownst chocolate appreciator would easily miss and dismiss this rendition but fate nudged my path and I was drawn into this happenstance.
Opening the package is a classic Marabou experience, so is the first bite. Loaded with more sugar than it should, something that most Marabou devotees will absolutely appreciate, it appears to be nothing more than a typical flat chocolate at first crunch but then, it pulls you on an adventure through a sea of flavors that invokes the delicate touch of pistachio, with a splash of sea salt and finally, a bath of the insurgent taste of caramel that has no business here and yet complements this entire experience as if it was the missing piece of this entire puzzle. And as if it wasn’t over, the aftertaste invites for more, leaving tidbits of pistachio on your taste buds tempting you for yet another nibble.
Marabou Pistachio unravels the holy trinity of all the cocoa based delicacies: the exquisite taste of pistachio, the discreet presence of sea salt and the unashamed flavor of caramel.
It is a shy beginning that leads to a naughty and sinful ending.
It deserves nothing less than an 8.0 out of 10, “Life is good”
