Claire presented me with this interesting piece of chocolate from Ireland, a Gunpowder Irish Gin flavoured chocolate. It sounds like an attractive combination and yet it draws some initial skepticism.

It presents itself with a taste of gin, not too much but just a subtle flavour, and then it builds up to a flavour of a familiar good ol’ milk chocolate. A paradoxical combination of a rebellious and innocent dream happening at every bite that leads to a ride that is meant to be enjoyed rather than rushed.

The aftertaste is pleasant and it endures for a while. A perfect choice for a relaxing evening, the kind of choice that must be treated with respect and consumed with tender.

Definitely a fine 8.0, “Non, je ne regrette rien”.
